ABOUT
OVERVIEW
Tanya’s diverse work falls into several categories including Realism, Social Realism, Cubism & Abstract, and Spiritual Art.
realism
This was an artistic movement that emerged in France in the 1840’s. Realist art works depicts people of all classes and in situations that arise in ordinary life. I paint Realism with how things appear to me and in my imagination. I paint bold stories with my self expression.
social realism
This aims to draw attention to the real social conditions. As I experience my life and people around the world. I express the need to paint the message that comes to me.
cubism & abstract
Abstract: is a visual language of shape, form, color and line to create composition. I find lots of freedom to paint abstract paintings. I call freedom to play on a large canvas.
Cubism: is an early -20th- Century art moment. I feel I have deep connection with three dimensional form of art. My first Cubism painting “Ganesh” is a perfect example of my creation of Cubism.
spiritual art
Born in india, I was exposed to all religions and cultures. Sikh teaching and scriptures have a large impact from my childhood. My father ( Balbir Singh Momi) is a writer and journalist. At the dinner table we would have discussions, from Sufi poets to Saints. My Spiritual Art depicts the meaning of the circle of life, a halo, a universe or Chakra. Eye catching colorful circle’s have very deep messages.
